i read to many wukong somehow ends up human/mostly human the same way mk does, deaged/amnesia and sick wukong fics and now i want to make one thats a mix of all three, i dont have much but i do have a little.

basically wukong caught the nine headed demon trying to wake and take mk, he tried to stop him but the resulting fight ended in wukongs powers and memories being sealed and regressed in age, the nine headed demon leaves them both in the city, where the eventually are found by pigsy and tang(who are married), wukongs is the same age as mk so its assumed they are half demon twins, since mk looks pretty much fully human, while wukong still has his tail and his peach shaped face mark.

as for the sick wukong part of this, i was thinking since his powers are sealed, i think his immortality is also sealed(i dont know how just pretend it makes sense), a lot of his past injuries have reared up and cause a lot of health problems, the furnace resulting in eye problems making him need glasses, along with lung problems, immune system problems caused buy 500 years under a mountain and being fed molten copper, plus the malnutrition, and highly intense migraines caused by of the circlet

they find out about these medical issues shortly after pigsy and tang takes them both in, it caused a bit of trauma for everyone, and a long string of doctor and hospital visits, never really getting a clear diagnosis, but always being told not to expect a long life for him. wukong grows up with a lot of love and support, but he does have a lot of guilt and self conscience issues about being a burden medically and financially. they also found out early on that his body cant handle hot foods or meats. pigsy and sandy make up for their fight a lot sooner then in canon due to sandy training service cats, and they have get one for wukong.

what no one realizes is that wukong is on a time limit, if they dont unlock his powers at least then he will eventually die because of his health problems

wukong is still his hyperactive and impulsive self(he is definitely audhd) but he does have a lot of limitations due to his health and hes weak because of it(and the fact his powers are sealed), he is howeververy agile and loves to do parkour when hes actually feeling well enough. hes obviously a lot kinder due to being raised by tang and pigsy and growing up with mk, he is still a little shit and a bit of a prankster, never cruel ones though. a little socially awkward since his constant health problems and resulting doctors and hospital visits caused him to miss out on school a lot growing up, mei and mk being his only friends. they met mei around the time they started school, mei being the only one willing to interact with the sick kid and his overprotective brother. pigsy and tang tend to hover a lot, even tho they do try to give wukong independence and encourage mk to have his own outside of wukong. the twins did grow up loving the stories of journey to the west, mks favorite character the story being wukong obviously, but wukongs favorite ends up being both tripitaka and the six eared macaque, i subscribe to the headcanon the wukong views tripitaka as a parental figure and obviously im a shadowpeach shipper.

at the time of canons start wukong is in the hospital due to a scare from a serious case of pneumonia, hes not released until around the time macaque shows up, and yeah everyone from wukongs past knows who he is or has suspicions on who he is, there are a lot of assumptions ranging from hes pretending to not know anything and "playing human" to something happened and he was reincarnated, all in all it takes a long time for all of them(mk and crew included) to realize that with all his powers and immortalies sealed that he will actually die. i really dont have a plan for how any of these confrontations and meetings would go, but i know its all gonna be angsty as hell. also lots of hurt comfort on all sides.

im not sure if i want to keep his name wukong or something with like xiaoyang or something with yang in it, either way his nickname would be sunny(i know its overdone im sorry i like it), im also throwing my headcanons in that hes trans and uses he/they pronouns. i even have a sort of idea of what he would look like by the start of canon, i love long haired haired wukong, so his hair is about shoulder length or a bit past, his outfit is a yellow hoodie with a macaque emblem on the back(boy has a crush and doesnt hide it) a pink skirt(cause i think that would be his favorite color) black leggings because he moves around a lot, and im not sure if i want to give him shoes or have him refuse to wear them. wukong, mk and mei are all about 19/20 around the start of canon.

EDIT: i should probably go to bed but someone reminded me of the name shihou(thank you btw,i forget things easily) and now i have a cute/funny little scenario stuck in my head, we all know pigsy is the one that called mk monkie kid when he was found and adding wukong to that pigsy just names him sunny, tang however being the voice of reason on names gives them the legal names of qi xiaotian and qi shihou, named the baby monkey after the baby monkey cause he couldnt think of anything else and he loves jttw and hey if pigsy can name the more human looking one monkie kid and then he can get away with naming one shihou, they both still go by mk and sunny most of the time tho

thinking about the tragedy of Daisuke (spoilers for the game ofcs) he was put in a job you don't really wanna do, but he wants to do right by his parents and make them proud so he tries. and he's not very good at it per se. and the guy whos overseeing his internship is constantly talking about how useless he is, and even though he tries to be cheerful and optimistic, i mean, you can only be called useless so many times before it gets to you. but he just wants to make swansea proud!! and after everything goes to shit, he's given a chance to do something to prove himself and then...

he goes up that vent and sees Anya dead next to jimmy, and on top of that, he gets (what i assume) horribly injured. he spends lord knows how long laying on that sleeping bag, in pain, being "taken care of" buy the one guy who truly did think of him as useless. swansea, who truly, deeply, did care for him being unable to do anything but end his misery.

what do you think he felt in those last moments? the axe swinging down on him on the hands of the person he looked up to the most. he probably wasn't very lucid when it happened, but still. i hope he died knowing that swansea cared so much for him.

something i genuinely adore about tadc is how painfully flawed everyone in the circus is. and not in a small way

everyone does SOMETHING that negatively impacts the others. but it makes the fact that you are supposed to sympathize with and really connect with them all the more potent. because its easy to want to put a bunch of characters in a bad situation together and to just have them all be nice to each other and everyone and never make mistakes because theres no reason to hurt each other, and most of them dont TRY to, but the way they cope is so, so realistic for each of their personalities, and it doesnt always mesh with the others, and sometimes it exceeds self destructive and Just Hurts Others, Too

they still generally care about each other and the mistakes they make and the ways they end up hurting each other dont lose their weight but like. it doesnt take away from their humanity and the fact that they are all trying so hard to manage in an awful situation

and the characters seem to have sooome sort of understanding of this too. not fully, because the characters dont tend to be 100% communicative, but when they hurt each other, it often makes EVERYONE uncomfortable. because these are the only people they have. these are their friends. and theyre all coping. but it doesnt change how much it affects them (best illustrated by ragathas lines at the start of ep 2 or gangles 'i love her, but after a while it gets kinda hard to tell how genuine shes actually being'). its not all like this, theres a good amnt of variety, but characters knowing this but not really knowing what to do about it is very painful in an effective way

(i think a subtle example of this is how zooble handles gangles situation in ep 4- they were so genuinely trying to help her because they care. but could tell as the day went on that oh, this is not working at all and its making things worse, and they leave gangle alone- something that very genuinely couldve been the moment she abstracted, because of the mask zooble gave her- and we dont get to have a super blatant explanation of zoobles thoughts on it, but they reach a fairly healthy conclusion about it that helps both of them, and i like that a lot, because on paper zooble could be placed at fault but the narrative doesnt dwell on it excessively, because thats not the point. i dont know if that tangent makes sense but i think about it sometimes. i think zooble wasnt 'to blame' but it was still a mistake, which is a hard balance to strike, and having them help at the end feels extremely effective at rounding it off!!!)

but like. in general its complicated balancing making characters in a bad situation act flawed because it can run the risk of seeming like the story is scolding them or blaming them for the situation theyre in, or like youre expected to not sympathize with them despite it (though the inverse also has complications- if characters in a bad situation never mess up, it feels unrealistic and hard to relate to, and can imply that their innocence is why whats happening to them is bad at all), but the show handles it so well

even the characters who are genuinely trying all try in different ways- some of them have similar outlooks or attitudes towards these thing but theres vital differences for ALL of them- sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. in fact some of the more painful mistakes characters have made in the show have come from them so genuinely trying (like the thing i mentioned w zooble, or basically Everything Ragatha Does, or pomnis first attempt at helping gangle, etc), which hits harder than if every mistake characters made had wholly selfish and cruel goals.

i mean, there is a selfishness to many of the characters' actions but imo not in a way thats not warranted. because all of them are in a horrible setting. its uncomfortable to watch characters be selfish. but it is a natural instinct to survive. its not the foundation of most of their actions, but when it is, its uncomfortable but hard to completely disparage them for in a way that makes you feel kinda conflicted

and like. it hurts to be doing your best and for that to make things worse, but its what happens often in the show. because no one in a bad situation is gonna handle it well. by the very nature of trying to survive something is gonna give, but it makes the themes of the show so much more powerful. that making sure the people around you dont feel unloved, cherishing them and finding meaning with others is no less important just because everyone is fucking up. it complicates things, for sure, but it doesnt make those characters exempt fromt this. theres a reason pomni tells gummigoo that she doesnt want "anyone" to feel like theyre nothing, and that kinger doesnt add ANY quallifiers to making sure people feel wanted and loved (not that i think either of them were thinking SUPER super hard, but it conveys smth from the perspective of the narrative

it gets complicated when you add in jax for sure, since i think on the surface he IS the exception to this concept- none of the characters like him, including pomni or kinger. but i think this is something thats gonna be examined further down the line, bc hes the main complicating factor in this reading of the show, but i feel like thats on purpose. hes universally disliked (and so is caine, in a different way) and his actions arent mistakes. they are him coping. the show has made it clear that he can be a complex person AND also a piece of shit. his actions dont detract from the fact that hes a person and the show reminds us of this. so it makes things so messy, but im genuinely super excited to see how the show examines that. where his character goes is, imo, going to be a massive piece of how this show fleshes out this concept

i like to think about age placements of the awakening second gen a lot and i have a decent idea of which kids fall on the older side and the younger side but specific details get really muddy really fast. i dont even know whos the oldest of the awakening trio or, perhaps more importantly, who the youngest is!! all ive really got is nah is probably the youngest (but that might just be because of the dragon part of her. WHICH IS ANNOYING TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION) and laurent and lucina are canonically the oldest (but laurent is only here on a technicality!!!!!! do you see my problem!!!) and im just like. MAN. excuse me intsys i have some more questions about your characters im obsessed with. what do you mean you spent exactly ten minutes on the lore and worldbuilding for this game

So I got spoiled about the Ekko talking Jinx down scene in episode 9 and I remember my first thought being how tf did she get away from Vi. She knew how devastated Jinx would be over Isha and after their fight in ep3 she would not want to leave her alone after that. I knew whatever happened people would blame Vi for it so I hoped she would try to slip away without Vi’s notice or in a way she couldn’t follow, which is what happened… kind of.

I’m not the first or the last to say that the placement of Fantastic was terrible because somehow I thought of how Vi would react to Jinx running off in such a state in about 2 minutes with limited information but the writers didn’t consider that in god knows how long.

So since I’m considering rewriting a few parts of season 2 here’s my rundown of changes for this scene.

Jinx breaks away from the hug and locks Vi up as is

When Cait finds her she is actually concerned. I could still see a kiss but more comforting like in ep3. She sits down on the ground to be with Vi for a moment. (give me back tender, loving Cait what did u do to her)

Vi gets a second of comfort before going after Jinx

Cait offers to help, wanting to be there for Vi but she declines knowing it’ll just make Jinx more upset

Vi arrives at the Last Drop and sees it ablaze, fearing the worst she runs around the outside desperate and finds Sevika.

Vi demand to know if she knows anything about Jinx and Sevika says she’s with a Firelight, she found them in Jinx’s hideout when she went looking for Jinx (in this version Sevika joins the firelight team like in the concept art)

👕Character whose fashion you like.

Phoar! Startrek really isn't a show I associate with being fashionable. It's very camp isn't it? In theory a lot of the wardrobe is really cool and they wanted to gain that retro-future aesthetic. Did it work? I'm not sure. However it does make a statement. The Startrek aesthetic is really recognizable and that's important! I think that's where modern trek kind of looses the plot. It's not as careful about the unique visual design as a whole anymore and as a result it doesn't settle in our minds. Is it bad artistry? No but it's not as stringent. What I mean by that is older trek cared about nuance. For example every haircut was done the same way on men, or suits were tailored in a way to look sleek but practical (they weren't). Gaudy patterns were important to denote things like status. It looks ugly on the outside but when you're watching the show it envelops you and makes you feel welcomed into the universe.

I digress.

To answer this, the most fashionable character, hands down, is Quark! That mfer always looks good, and has the finest drip in the galaxy. Love that.

🥲 ST moment that makes you cry.

There are two moments that make me particularly sad. Kate's acting in the climax of Resistance is incredible. I read somewhere she had a special-wink-wink- relationship with the Director in the early seasons and she was being tested by this episode in some regard. I think it paid off. I treasure any time her captain-hood is removed, and the extreme vulnerability of Janeway is on display-MWAH MWAH poignant. This episode is beautifully intimate, particularly this scene. It's overall gorgeous and unique in how she whispers to him, as if there is nothing more important than to secure his peace of mind as he dies, and it's heart rending when it ends with her just crouching there, emotionally alone. I love how Janeway is forced into the father-daughter dynamic between her and Caylem, one that she would ordinarily resist (heh themes) because I think it inherently weakens her status. The back and forth throughout the episode of them taking care of each other's welfare is so it's terribly sad when it's torn down and we discover the truth behind Caylem's family. If you've dug around her character you know that her Admiral-Father has had impact on her life. She's haunted by him in both a figurative way by being a Captain, and literal sense later on in Coda. Much like Caylem, she looses her father in a violent manner that she has to carry around while she forges ahead. It also reflects well on Kate's relationship with her actual father, she recently revealed that she was never able to get him on her page, but in spite that she adore him with all her might. So a scene like this is really revealing-I believe she was able to draw upon those feelings and that's kinda neat to be so raw as an actor. SIGH.

This one just straight up made me cry fr because Prodigy s1 is a really mature, well done piece of (Startrek) media. Holo Janeway has an irony about it where in the end she is program designed to be a teacher, and she didn't expect to develop a strong bond with the crew. Her final moments are of displaying a huge amount of selflessness and courage to help the kids get out of trouble, similarly to how Janeway would approach dire circumstances. The music swelling and the ship activating is just OOOOF!!! I love how it parallels Dal's initiation of the first Protojump in a Moral Star. By that means It suggests how proud she is to get to do this for them. As a character she is really interesting to think about, in a way I can't entirely articulate. A lot of her moments are quite sad in general, she has to keep an active role so she isn't ignored, and help where help is needed, but at the same time she has constraints, one being that she manipulated by the antagonists. And In contrast to that, the kids do their best to help her feel like she is important and more than a command program to be used insincerely. She grew to love the Protostar crew, that's evident in her body language in this scene. She has a lot of depth overall. Equal to the real Janeway she deeply feels love, guilt and pain, but importantly she is transformed by the her time on the Protostar and while active, learns and grows with Dal, Rok-tak, Zero, Jankom and Gwyn. It's REALLY sweet that they care all care about each other.

I love her and I love JANEWAY!!!!

🥹 Favourite behind the scenes picture.

Ooooh I love all behind the scenes stuff. My brother in Christ It's super difficult to just name one thing and I'm very greedy!! I wish we had more BTS content for Voyager but sadly, it's a matter of grab what you can, however you can. Anyway, I have an inherent interest in seeing the cogs behind the wheel. I chose these samples because I think they're charming.

The continuity polaroid's are so fun and a lost technique, I like to think about assistants having to pull the actors aside and asking them to take those. How daunting! Kate's grin in the one where she is offset is SO cute. So she must have been in a good mood, super Cheeky!

Following that is a screenshot from a video of her having her makeup done. A rare catch. I like this because she often sooks about how much time hair and makeup was spent on her to become Captain Janeway. I get it's a huge time-sink, but love or hate it, the full irony is that her early season appearance is really iconic and in it's own right adds to Captain Janeway's sensibility. Silly goose Kate! Besides that, she looks hot checking herself out, haha.

Moreover, I love on-set editorial photos of actors in costume. While we did have heaps of them in the Starfleet uniform, I wish we had a larger collection with clearer releases, it would have given an opportunity to see in things of interest better detail. Particularly the lower half of unique costumes. For whatever reason special outfits weren't often established or framed for us to see the legs in the show, so a nice big photograph would have solved that. Also I love that these style of pictures capture an impression of an episode without giving it away.

Similarly, fly on the wall on-set photos are cool. They're way more intimate and candid than anything else and it makes me feel as though I am spying on the actors, but they're also a good way to document how things might have been on set.

The Timeless one is interesting too because it's of a deleted scene, we never see Chakotay look at a dead Janeway (how deliciously macabre!), but at some point in time it was in the script and they filmed it.

Hmm this bts picture of Janeway in the Cardigan is adorable! I believe it was worn by Kate for a Charity but look how cute she looks? Makes me wish we saw her mess around with things like that more because 7 Years is a long ass time to be in uniform everyday ( coming from someone who went to school in a Uniform and enjoyed it for the most part). Casual Fridays anyone?

I love this gif. It's from the first shoots of Caretaker and Kate looks so radiant! Her smile is is breathtaking! Whenever I see this gif I get a sense of delight. Poor thing had no idea what she was getting herself into, haha. Really though, check out the original Caretaker photos, they're super-cool. The history behind it is fascinating; I'd love to see more footage from that version of the pilot episode. Unfortunately, it's probably not preserved well, much like lots of Paramount's historical material.

On a similar trend, it's fun to see this set of pictures too. It's for the First Contact film / maybe the Universal studios ride, when she reprised her role as Vice AdmiralJaneway. Kate was genuinely delighted to do this cameo and it shows. As per her operandum she put her whole self into this small segment and that's so darling. It makes me wish we had more of this Janeway at that point in time. I love post Endgame chubby-Janeway. In a fictional sense it denotes that she is comfortable or stressed to be an Admiral (sadly it's the latter in real life) or whatever and I love that for her.

These kind of pictures are fun because it's been said that at times it was the most playful set to be on. There are tales that the cast were not that serious all the time. You get that impression here, and it's probably why the majority of them are still good friends to this day. They're like a family bros!!! Having worked in media I know that wrapping up after working on something for a long time is really rewarding and I bet they had a good time at parties.

Apropos previous, the opposite can be said. While they had fun, the hours were long and the scripts intensive. Kate was around for all of the episodes of Voyager in one way or another, and still managed to bring her A-game each time. She is truly admirable! Seeing her so exhausted is charming. She had a lot of weight to carry for the franchise and did an exemplary job performing her way through 7 years of weird and wonderful material. I wonder how often they fell asleep on set? I know I would. Get some rest queen!

Finally, I've been following Prodigy bts as best I can, and because of my career in animation I get pretty interested in Production art. I love seeing the fast metamorphosis of a visual style. It's really impressive how much attention they applied to the designs, maintaining the older stuff, while adapting a new frontier. One of the lead artists made some pretty neat observations to get Kate's appearance right. It's so cool that they documented that journey, because from my dabbling I know she has a very beautiful, distinct face that isn't easy to capture.

ANYWAY Thankyou for reading my fat thesis fellas. tl;dr i love this stinky Startrek Voyager and by extension the franchise.

Do you ever think about how Fakir, after him and Ahiru finally broke everything that kept the town of Goldkröne in the ghostly hands of its writer, after they finally have some air of peace over the town finally being able to live in its intended early 2000s environment, that Fakir still feels at times like it's not real and that for a while he fears that if he closes his eyes it'll be back in Drosselmeyer's control. Like it just doesn't feel real to him during that first year of calm, until he feels the dull pain on his recovering hand injury and Ahiru who follows him without a pendant anywhere to be found.

He doesn't feel it's real, the calm finality of this town, but he makes sure to feel the scar on his hand. And he makes sure to hold the little duck and realize that she is who she has always been. Him and the town are finally living peacefully.

other than that it all stems from my own OC timeline where Ace is in Team Cards in my House of Cards (unfinished) when he just retired to live a civilian life

as for CURRENTLY in the Graces ship, Ace was retired from Team Cards and met Graves where he recruited him to join Shadow Company, meaning he never joined the 141 and by proxy never met Soap, at least personally

i do however LOVE the idea of a traitor!141!Ace where he betrays his team and joins Shadow Company

i can imagine that Ace, Soap and Graves would get to know each other better through the events of MW2 before the betrayal

lowkey with Ace being swayed to Shadow's side because Graves is hot that convincing and also maybe Ace felt a bit out of place between Soap and Ghost (existing homoerotic tension) and Shadow Company's camaraderie is soo welcoming to a lonely dog like Ace

i think Ace would be aware of the plan of combing through Las Almas without mercy, but the way that it turned out would make him feel SO guilty like Soap wasn't meant to get shot :( Ace would hate that Alejandro got captured or his team was scattered :(( and worst of all, Ace would probably still be able to tap into comms and he'd listen to Ghost and Soap banter and feel even more distant from Soap :(((

and maybe in this timeline of Graves/Ace/Soap, Ace still thinks of Soap even when he's with Graves and those baby blue eyes keep reminding him of Soap :((((( and Ace can't fully commit to Graves because he's so guilty (he's still in love (in denial) with Graves but he never got closure with Soap)

OKAY so i wanted to talk a little bit about my rewrite tonight because i'm getting excited thinking about it again

i haven't started on any of the story yet really, i'm mostly adjusting worldbuilding details and personal headcanons before i start on anything major, so i wanted to talk about one of them tonight hehe ..

(post-writing update: this is a lot longer than i thought it would be. Oops)

one of my more major changes is that i wanted to expand more on non-humans and add some extra stuff since i really like when fantasy settings do that.

i didn't want to include like, a Whole ton more since that would sort of interfere with the clover kingdom's whole backstory and conflict with the elves, but so far my lineup of different peoples within my rewrite are humans, witches, merfolk, elves, dwarves, and chimeras. (as well as devils and spirits but they're sort of their own thing)

witches are their own race because i thought it would add a little bit more interest and mystery to both vanessa and dorothy's stories! and also an extra incentive as to why the witch queen wouldn't want any witches to leave the forest, since i don't think that's ever expanded upon. the witch queen has been alive for hundreds of years and has seen the cruelty clover enacted towards the elves, and in a somewhat backwards protective way wants all of her children to never leave the forest at all.

witches are actually more closely related to elves than they are to humans, though there are key differences in their appearances. some being;

- witches generally all have the same ear length/shape with minor variations. elves have a wide variety of ear lengths/shapes

- all witches have a darker nose-bridge/facial marking, elves do not

- all elves have tails, but not all witches do

here's a really small headshot doodle i did of what vanessa would look like in my au :] her catlike pupils are considered unusual and are a result of her magic. her ears are also considered longer than an average witch's!

the only kingdom i imagine being openly welcoming to most non-humans would be heart; clover, diamond, and spade are all considered somewhat hostile, especially after what happened with the elves.

merfolk are pretty self-explanatory; think of the seabed temple people such as kahono and kiato. another thing i don't think was ever expanded upon much was why those of the seabed temple aren't allowed to go into the cities, and so i came up with my own reasoning!

the seabed temple is not technically a part of the clover kingdom. much like the borders between kingdoms, the ocean is mostly considered a neutral zone, and therefore the merfolk of the seabed temple are not a part of clover's sovereign people. therefore, to enter clover territory and cities requires an extensive process to gain dual-citizenship, as well as the pre-existing conflict between humans and non-humans.

the seabed temple is pretty much the extent of merfolk who live in/near clover. however, i imagine there to be a large population of merfolk (as well as other races) who live in the heart kingdom!! i think that the heart kingdom would sort of be the central choice of living for most non-humans. it's always struck me as a little bit odd that there were elves only in clover, so i think that there would be at least a small populous of elves in heart as well.

elves i decided to make less humanoid looking, because i enjoy that in fantasy as well .. i also think that, as close as they were to nature and natural mana (especially in clover) that it'd be cool for them to have traits from their environment too! an example being here with my personal headcanons for fana;

(here's the text written down in case my handwriting is illegible)

- some elves have more animalistic attributes due to natural mana influence. horns, extra limbs, fur, and other odd features are fairly common!

- "magic markings" in the style of their attribute are common on the elves with exceptionally high mana. so for example, fana's flame markings! (i draw patri with little light sparkles and stuff to represent his magic but i really don't like the one drawing i have of it right now)

- most elves have tails that provide extra balance, although bobtails do exist.

- their ears are always pointy, though they can vary pretty widely in size/style

- they have claws which can be filed down

- plant growth can sometimes occur on elves (mostly water or plant mages) who are particularly close with nature/natural mana.

- they have animalistic feetpaws that allow for extra dexterity with tough padding that doesn't necessitate the use of shoes or covering in most environments.

chimeras are sort of my own original addition to black clover's world. they aren't a separate race in and of themselves, but instead a curse which could be placed upon anyone. chimera curses are extremely rare and are considered a form of forbidden magic stemming from a devil's power. (i may or may not have my own chimera devil oc in progress .... hehe ....)

essentially, a chimera curse causes the afflicted to gain animalistic or monster-like features, which may induce a loss of humanity or other unsavory things. i know that in the black clover wiki, weg is listed as just the term for humans who gain horns through use of forbidden/devilish magic, but i'm altering it to just mean any curse or affliction. curses are inherently devilish, stemming from megicula's sphere of influence, and hence, chimera curses are a form of weg.

there are two main types of chimera curses, which are generational and individual.

- generational chimeras are those whose bloodline has been cursed, and are born with their affliction. these typically result in less obvious physical changes, which makes it easier to hide and live a normal life.

- individual chimeras are those who have been directly cursed, either through their actions of tampering with forbidden magic or somehow by a powerful curse user themself. these physical changes are usually more obvious and very difficult to hide.

in my au, nero is considered a chimera!! here's a little doodle of what my headcanoned nero looks like next to canon nero LOL (also the glasses are just a personal thing, they were so cute on her in the movie. i had to keep them)

humans pretty much remain the same, albeit i do want to make some adjustments to how mana works, the differences in those born in different kingdoms, as well as elaborate more on the genetic factor of magic attributes. (i'm a HUGE biology nerd and i WILL be making punnet squares)

dwarves are the one race i really haven't done much with or thought of anything for yet. i will eventually, but i'd like to start getting other stuff worked out before i do!

Basically. Gender and sexuality and race and a Lot of other things are social and cultural concepts that are not like Facts or intrinsic and honestly I wish more people would realize that these are things we made up and there are no actual rules and everyone's experiences are different
